ABOUT
DK Engineering approached INNA3D during a highly specific automotive design challenge
Converting an Alfa Romeo 8C from automatic to manual transmission while giving the new centre-console detail a character inspired by the 1930s Alfa Romeo 8C. The brief was not simply to show a product. It was to help the team see whether a future-made part could feel as if it belonged to the car.
The starting point was deliberately practical: photographs of the existing car, reference imagery for the historic shifter style, and scan data showing the early concept. With no finished CAD package or design drawing supplied, INNA3D translated the information into a set of visual options for the centre panel, button layout, electronic handbrake and gated manual shifter.
The work moved through raw previews, design feedback, revised geometry and final renderings. Carbon fibre, polished metal, black hardware and the red control accents were treated not as decoration, but as part of the design argument: a modern manual conversion with period intelligence, engineered detail and enough visual certainty to support decision-making before production.

The Brief, Closed
BEFORE IT BECAME A PART
This is where automotive CGI becomes more than a render. The question was not only how the new manual conversion would look, but whether it would feel believable inside a contemporary Alfa Romeo 8C while carrying the spirit of an earlier 8C era.
By building the centre-console proposal in 3D, INNA3D gave DK Engineering a way to test proportion, placement and material presence before machining, fabrication or final production decisions. The gated shifter could be judged in context. The buttons could be understood as part of a real console, not as separate parts on a drawing. The finish could be reviewed against the existing carbon fibre and interior architecture.
The result is a set of design-led automotive CGIs that made the idea easier to discuss, refine and believe in. A manual conversion visualised with enough precision to support the engineering conversation, and enough atmosphere to show why the detail mattered.
